Army Chief Honours Lt Col (Hony) Mohanlal for His Bond with Armed Forces, Philanthropic Work

New Delhi, Oct 7 (JKNS): Chief of Army Staff felicitated Lt Col (Hony) Mohanlal India’s legendary actor and Honorary Officer of the Indian Army for his outstanding social contributions and long-standing bond with the Armed Forces.

As per details available with news agency JKNS, Conferred with the honorary rank in May 2009, Mohanlal has been an emblem of discipline, service, and national pride. His efforts during the 2024 Wayanad disaster, where he extended crucial relief support, were widely lauded.

Through his ViswaSanthi Foundation, the actor promotes education, healthcare, skill development, and social welfare initiatives benefiting underprivileged communities.

With over 400 films to his credit in multiple languages, Mohanlal’s cinematic and humanitarian achievements have earned him India’s top honours Padma Shri (2001), Padma Bhushan (2019), and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award (2025).

The Chief of Army Staff presented him with the COAS Commendation Card, recognizing his exceptional service and contribution to the nation beyond the screen. (JKNS)
