Srinagar, Oct 9 (JKNS): In a major development for cricket lovers across Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has announced that it will host eight national-level matches during the 2025–26 domestic season, including three Ranji Trophy, three Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy, and two Cooch Behar Trophy fixtures.

The Ranji Trophy season will open with a high-voltage clash between J&K and Mumbai on October 15 at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar marking an exciting start for local fans. The remaining Ranji fixtures will include matches against Rajasthan and other top domestic sides.

According to a JKCA statement issued to news agency JKNS, the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy games will be played at the Hostel Ground, Jammu, while the Cooch Behar Trophy matches will take place at the Jammu University Cricket Ground.

JKCA Administrator Brig Anil Gupta (Retd) invited fans to turn up in large numbers, urging them to maintain decorum and discipline during matches. “Cheer the teams and your favourite players wholeheartedly, but refrain from hooting or sloganeering. Our guest teams too deserve applause for their good performances,” he stated.

He added that only accredited media personnel with JKCA-issued cards will be permitted entry, while spectators will not be allowed to carry bottles or tiffins inside the venue for security reasons.

JKCA expressed confidence that the 2025–26 cricketing season will be a memorable one, with several national and international players expected to feature in matches across Srinagar and Jammu. (JKNS)
