Srinagar, Oct 30 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Thursday cleared four important bills during its session, marking a major step in legislative reforms across multiple sectors including housing, rural governance, employment, and cooperatives.
As per news agency JKNS, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s Rent Regulation Bill, 2025, aimed at balancing the rights of landlords and tenants and setting up a Rent Authority — was approved unanimously.
The Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Bill, 2025, moved by Rural Development Minister Javid Ahmad Dar, was also passed to strengthen the local self-governance framework.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary’s Shops and Establishments Bill, 2025 and the Cooperative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025 piloted by Dar were both adopted after detailed discussion.
All four bills were passed with consensus with the voice of vote. (JKNS)
