Budgam, Nov 9 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday mounted a fierce criticism against PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, asserting that the PDP-BJP coalition government was responsible for major political and security setbacks in Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking to reporters in Budgam, CM Omar as per news agency JKNS said, “The SARFAESI Act and GST were brought in during her tenure. By aligning with the BJP, she paved the way for the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A. What did the people of Jammu & Kashmir gain from this? The unrest of 2016 devastated countless families, yet she has not apologised for it.”
He further said that widespread arrests and administrative actions were intensified during the PDP-BJP government. “The crackdown on youth, PSA detentions, and dismissal of government employees all began during that regime. How many young people were arrested in 2016? How many were released? The releases were far fewer and were mostly due to court orders,” he remarked.
Urging Mehbooba Mufti to accept responsibility, Omar added, “Joining hands with the BJP was a historic mistake. She should acknowledge it and apologise. If a wrong has been committed, one must admit it.” (JKNS)
