Srinagar, Nov 10 (JKNS): The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Monday said the recent drop in temperature across Kashmir was slightly ahead of the usual pattern, signalling the beginning of sustained winter conditions.
“Frost and foggy mornings are expected in the coming days, but there is no forecast of major snowfall yet,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the Kashmir Valley experienced a cold wave on Sunday with several areas recording sub-zero minimum temperatures. Srinagar registered a low of -0.1°C, while Pahalgam and Shopian were the coldest at -3.2°C.
As per details available with news agency JKNS, other notable minimums included Kupwara at -1.2°C, Baramulla and Budgam at -2.8°C, and Pampore at -2.5°C.
