Srinagar, Nov 16 (JKNS): Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, on Sunday expressed profound grief over the loss of lives in the Nowgam blast and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured.

In a statement issued to news agency JKNS, Mufti Nasir said he was “extremely pained” by the tragedy and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in the explosion.

The Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) Board also expressed anguish over the incident, extending sympathies to the affected families and urging people to stand together in this moment of sorrow.

Appealing for calm, the Grand Mufti said, “I urge people to maintain unity, remain patient, and support one another during this difficult time. Our collective resolve must be to uphold peace, dignity, and mutual respect within society.”

He further said that such incidents only strengthen the community’s determination to preserve harmony and safeguard the values of compassion and humanity. (JKNS)
