Ulfat Mushtaq Shines at J&K UT Cycling Championship 2025, Secures Spot for Nationals

Srinagar, Nov 17 (JKNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory Cycling Championship 2025 concluded today with an impressive showcase of talent, stamina, and sportsmanship from over 70 cyclists representing 10 districts across the UT.

 

Organized under the aegis of the Cycling Federation of India (CFI) and conducted by the Cycling Association of Jammu & Kashmir (CAJK), the championship was held with the support of the J&K Sports Council as part of the Fit India Movement initiative.

 

The event was flagged off under the leadership of Ravinder Singh, Chairman CAJK, along with Balvinder Singh, Vice President CAJK; Om Parkash Sharma, General Secretary CAJK; Ravi Salgotra, CEO CAJK; SS Gill, Coordinator CAJK; Shiv Kumar Sharma; Madan Lal, Executive Member District Jammu Cycling Association, and Vikash Kumar Sharma, PCP nominated by CFI.

 

Among the standout performers, Ulfat Mushtaq from Rafiabad, District Baramulla, delivered an exceptional performance that drew widespread praise. She clinched:

 

Silver Medal in Road Elite Women’s Category

 

Gold Medal in MTB Elite Women’s Category

 

With this remarkable achievement, Ulfat has also earned her selection for the upcoming National Cycling Championship, marking a proud moment for Baramulla district and the entire Union Territory.

 

Her success reflects not only her personal dedication and discipline but also the growing sports culture in Jammu & Kashmir, where young athletes, especially women, are increasingly making their mark at the national level. (JKNS)
