Baramulla, Nov 26 (JKNS): Government High School (GHS) Goripora Zaingair under Dangerpora Zone of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm, bringing together students, parents, educators, and local dignitaries in a vibrant display of cultural performances, achievements, and institutional progress.

As per news agency JKNS, The event was graced by Mr. Tanveer Hakim, Joint Director (JD) North, who presided as the Chief Guest. In his address, he applauded the school’s remarkable transformation over the past few years, noting that “GHS Goripora Zaingair is a school where government teachers themselves choose to educate their children—a matter of pride and confidence in the public education system.”

He reiterated that textbooks are fully available in government schools and issued a strong warning to private schools and textbook shop owners, saying strict action will be taken against anyone found violating rules.

Mr. Ab Salam Dar, ZEO Dangerpora, attended the function as the Guest of Honor and joined JD North in encouraging faculty and students to continue their commendable efforts.

The school’s Headmaster Mr. Mohd Shafi Rather Sahib, presented the annual report, highlighting academic milestones, community engagement, and the institution’s impressive turnaround. He underscored the steady increase in enrollment, emphasizing that the school which had only 7 students enrolled in 2021 has grown to more than 215 students in 2025, reflecting the community’s growing trust.

A key highlight of the event was the enrollment of 32 new students on the spot, contributing to the district’s tally of nearly 7,000 fresh admissions this academic year. Officials proudly noted that a majority of faculty members also have their own children studying in the school, showcasing their commitment and belief in the institution’s standards.

Dignitaries, including Chairman Civil Society Bomai, Mr. Mohd Ramzan Lone, local representatives from Goripora, SMC members, and parents, praised the school’s consistency and discipline. They applauded GHS Goripora Zaingair for achieving 100% results every year across all classes, establishing it as one of the zone’s most reliable academic institutions.

During the ceremony, JD North and ZEO Dangerpora felicitated the school toppers, applauding their dedication and extending special congratulations to Headmaster Mohd Shafi Rather, the entire staff, and the local community for collectively uplifting the school’s standards.
