Srinagar, Nov 28 (JKNS): A sharp drop in night temperatures gripped Kashmir on Thursday night, with Srinagar registering its coldest night of the season at -4.5°C, as per data compiled by independent weather channel Kashmir Weather.
As per details accessed by Jammu Kashmir News Service (JKNS), Shopian emerged among the coldest areas, dipping to a bone-chilling -6.7°C, while several other regions in the Valley also remained under intense sub-zero conditions.
Pahalgam recorded -5.5°C, Pampore -6.0°C, Pulwama -6.2°C, Baramulla -5.9°C, and Anantnag -6.2°C.
Budgam and Kupwara both settled at -4.8°C.
Qazigund (-4.4°C), Bandipora (-4.9°C), Awantipora (-4.8°C), Ganderbal (-3.5°C), Sonamarg (-3.8°C), and Kulgam (-2.8°C).
Gulmarg stood at -1.4°C, while Kokernag recorded -1.8°C. In north Kashmir, Zethan Rafiabad dipped to -5.3°C.
The coldest point recorded across the region remained Zojila Pass, freezing at a brutal -16.0°C.
Jammu settled at 9.4°C, Katra 8.2°C, Kathua 8.2°C, and Jammu Airport 9.8°C.
Higher reaches recorded colder temperatures: Bhaderwah (-0.5°C), Rajouri (1.4°C), Ramban (3.2°C), Batote (3.6°C), Udhampur (3.6°C), Doda (2.9°C), Kishtwar (3.5°C), Reasi (6.4°C), and Banihal (3.6°C).
Leh recorded -8.6°C, Kargil -9.6°C, and Nubra Valley -8.3°C. (JKNS)
