Srinagar, Dec 1 (JKNS): Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Akshay Labroo on Monday said that the district administration is implementing a series of focused measures to ease the growing traffic congestion in the city, with priority being given to emergency mobility and commuter relief.
Speaking about the ongoing initiatives, DC said the Sonarkol link road currently under construction near the Super Speciality Hospital will provide a crucial alternative route between Nawa Bazar and Safakadal. According to him, this road will significantly improve ambulance movement, especially during trauma emergencies.
DC Labroo, as per news agency JKNS, said that ensuring smooth traffic flow in Srinagar requires a combination of short-term fixes, medium-level upgrades, and large infrastructure projects, all supported by strong enforcement and improved traffic management.
He added that with recently completed works like the Sanatnagar Flyover and Noor Jahan Bridge, the city is steadily progressing toward long-term decongestion, making travel safer, faster, and more comfortable for the public. (JKNS)
