Baramulla, Dec 3 (JKNS): The Education Zone Dangerpora, in collaboration with the District Education Department Baramulla, celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with great enthusiasm at High School Brath-e-Kalan.
As per news agency JKNS, The event highlighted the region’s commitment to promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.
In his address, ADC Sopore S. A. Raina, who was the Chief Guest, reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to supporting persons with disabilities across Zone Dangerpora.
ZEO Dangerpora Ab. Salam Dar, the Guest of Honour, emphasized the importance of inclusive education and congratulated all participating students and staff.
Among other dignitaries present were Mir Shafqat (ZEPO), Miss Haleema Bano (District Coordinator), Syed Rashid (Resource Person), and Mushtaq Ahmad (Resource Person), who collectively appreciated the efforts of the school and the zone for organizing the event.
A special drawing competition was held for students with disabilities, giving them an opportunity to express their creativity and talent. The winners were felicitated with medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances.
A moment of special appreciation was reserved for Miss Nuzhat Ara, the only specially-abled teacher in Zone Dangerpora, who was honoured for her dedication, commitment, and inspirational service to students.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC S. A. Raina said, “We are committed to providing every possible support to persons with disabilities in Zone Dangerpora. Their talents and contributions are vital to the progress of our society.”
Echoing the sentiment, ZEO Ab. Salam Dar remarked, “Inclusive education is not just a policy it is a moral responsibility. Teachers like Miss Nuzhat Ara embody the spirit of service that drives this mission forward.” (JKNS)
