Leh, Dec 5 (JKNS): With temperatures dipping sharply and the cold wave intensifying across the region, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Leh has announced an early commencement of winter vacations for schools in the district.
In an order issued by CEO Del Argmo as per news agency JKNS, order conveyed on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC Leh, all Government and Private institutions in the Nyoma and Durbuk zones up to Class 8th will shut for winter break starting December 8, 2025, JKNS reported.
Additionally, the circular states that all schools in the entire Leh district will close for winter vacation from December 15, 2025, owing to the extreme cold conditions that have begun to affect the routine functioning of academic activities.
Officials said the decision was taken considering the harsh weather pattern and sub-zero temperatures that are making it increasingly difficult for students to attend classes. (JKNS)
