Srinagar, Dec 5 (JKNS): The National Conference on Friday observed the 120th birth anniversary of its founder, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, with senior party leaders offering Fateha and floral tributes at his mausoleum in Naseem Bagh, Hazratbal.
As per news agency JKNS, Leaders including NC President Dr Farooq Abdullah, party Vice President and J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani (Sogami), senior leader Abdul Rahim Rather, several MLAs and party functionaries assembled at the Qaid Mazar to pay their respects, JK News Service (JKNS) reported.
Speaking during the ceremony, Dr Farooq Abdullah said that Sheikh Abdullah’s contributions to the political awakening of Jammu & Kashmir remain unmatched.
He added that the Sher-e-Kashmir dedicated his life to safeguarding people’s rights and ensuring dignity, equality and justice for all.
Other senior leaders also reflected on Sheikh Abdullah’s legacy, noting that his principles of unity, inclusiveness and public service continue to guide the party’s mission.
A large number of NC workers, supporters and local residents participated in the event, reaffirming their commitment to carry forward Sheikh Abdullah’s vision and lifelong struggle for the welfare of the people. (JKNS)
