New Delhi, Dec 19 (JKNS): The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has issued separate orders granting promotions to a sizeable number of Indian Police Service (IPS) officers of the AGMUT cadre to the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG) and Selection Grade, based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee.
According to orders dated December 19, as per news agency JKNS, fifteen IPS officers of the 2017 batch of the Joint AGMUT cadre have been elevated to the Junior Administrative Grade (Level-12 of the Pay Matrix). The promotions will take effect from January 1, 2026.
Those promoted to JAG include Bisma Qazi, Sumit Kumar Jha, Tanushree, Sahil Sarangal, Sachin Kumar Singhal, Rahul Gupta, Narra Chaitanya, Anayat Ali Choudhary, Nikhil Borkar, Aishwarya Sharma, Mohita Sharma, Rajneesh Garg, Hareesh H.P. and Manishi Chandra.
In another order, the MHA approved the promotion of 22 IPS officers of the 2013 batch of the AGMUT cadre to the Selection Grade (Level-13 in the Pay Matrix). These promotions will also be effective from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assumption of charge, whichever is later.
The officers elevated to Selection Grade are Ashish Kumar Mishra, Nagpure Amod Ashok, Darade Sharad Bhaskar, V Hareshwar Swami, Vichitra Veer, Jimmy Chiram, Ankit Chauhan, Prashant Priya Gautam, Gurinderpal Singh, Apoorva Gupta, Ankit Kumar Singh, Vikas Kumar, Mohd Irshad Haider, Kumar Gyanesh, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, Anil Kumar Lal, Rajendra Prasad Meena, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Bakar Hussain Samoon, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Ranjit Singh Samyal and Mohd Yaseen Kichloo.
Meanwhile, Chandan Kohli and Surendra Choudhary, IPS officers of the 2013 batch presently on Central Deputation, have been granted proforma promotion to the Selection Grade with effect from January 1, 2026. Their actual promotion will be effective from the date their immediate juniors take charge in the cadre.
The orders were issued with the approval of the competent authority, the Ministry of Home Affairs said. — (JKNS)
