Qazigund, Jan 1 (JKNS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday held a workers’ meeting at Qazigund under the leadership of Party Incharge for Anantnag West Constituency, Advocate Sheikh Javid.
The meeting witnessed active participation of party functionaries and workers from the constituency.
Addressing the gathering, Advocate Sheikh Javid strongly criticized the Jammu and Kashmir government led by Omar Abdullah, alleging that it has failed to fulfil the promises made to the people during the election campaign.
He said that the common people continue to face hardships and unresolved issues on a daily basis.
Sheikh Javid urged party workers to gear up for strengthening the PDP at the grassroots level, asserting that PDP is the only party in Jammu and Kashmir capable of addressing the miseries and problems faced by the people. He emphasized unity, discipline, and sustained outreach to reconnect with the masses.
During the meeting, party leaders stressed upon workers to make the January 7 programme successful, marking the death anniversary of PDP founder and former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. They termed the occasion as an opportunity to reaffirm the party’s commitment to the vision and ideals of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Speaking on the occasion, PDP Senior Leader and Block President Qazigund, Peerzada Mohammad Shafi, said that party workers are working with full dedication to strengthen the organization at the grassroots level and will continue their efforts to further consolidate the party cadre under the leadership of Party President Mehbooba Mufti.
On the occasion, party leaders felicitated the newly appointed Zonal Youth President for Anantnag West Constituency, Showkat Ahmad Khan, and Block President Vessu, Mohammad Hussain.
The meeting was attended by PDP Block Presidents, Halqa Presidents, Daih Presidents, and a large number of party workers. (JKNS)
