Kupwara, Jan 3 (JKNS): Several wooden barracks at an Army camp in the Sadna sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district were damaged in a fire that broke out during the intervening night, officials said on Friday.
Officials from Fire and Emergency Services Chokibal told news agency JKNS that the fire erupted shortly after midnight at the Army camp in the Sadana area. Initial assessments suggest that around four to five barracks were affected by the blaze.
They said the barracks, which were mainly constructed of wood and covered with GCI sheet roofing, caught fire rapidly, resulting in significant damage before the flames were brought under control.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, officials said, adding that no injuries or casualties were reported in the incident. (JKNS)
