10 Fire Incidents Reported Across Kashmir in 24 Hours

Srinagar, Jan 4 (JKNS): At least 10 fire incidents were reported from different parts of the Kashmir Valley during the last 24 hours, prompting swift response by the Fire and Emergency Services Department, officials said on Sunday afternoon.

According to the details shared by Fire and Emergency Services Department, Kashmir Range as per news agency JKNS, firefighting teams acted promptly in all cases, successfully bringing the fires under control and preventing their spread. No loss of life was reported in any of the incidents, while the exact causes are being ascertained.

As per the details, a fire broke out involving stored firewood and a PVC water tank at Abu Bakar Colony, Habak in Srinagar. In Malik Mohalla of Kupwara, a residential house was damaged, while a kiryana shop caught fire at Zaindar Mohalla, Habba Kadal.

Two hay stacks were damaged in a fire incident at Gund Check, BK Pora in Srinagar, while another hay stack was involved in a separate fire at Pirpora, Tailwani in Anantnag. Similarly, two hay stacks were damaged at Malgam in Kunzer area of Sopore.

In south Kashmir, a double-storied residential house was affected by fire at Hadoo in Shopian, while another double-storied house was damaged at Ahmad Abad, Sheikh Mohalla, DH Pora in Kulgam. A cow shed was involved in a fire incident at Gujarbasti, Sheikhpora in Anantnag.

Meanwhile, in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, a double-storied residential house caught fire at Dar Mohalla, Aawura.

All the incidents were attended to promptly by Fire and Emergency Services units, ensuring that the situations were brought under control without any casualties.

ADGP Fire and Emergency Services, Alok Kumar, has appealed to the public to strictly follow fire safety norms, ensure proper electrical wiring, and avoid unsafe storage of flammable materials to prevent such incidents, the statement added. (JKNS)
