Larnoo, Jan 14 (JKNS): A special camp for disbursement of loans and awareness about the Mission Yuva scheme was organised on Tuesday at the J&K Bank Larnoo branch to speed up loan disbursement and create awareness among youth about self-employment opportunities under the flagship programme.
The camp was presided over by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kokernag, Shri Prince Kumar, IAS, and was organised by the Branch Manager, J&K Bank, Larnoo. Youth from across the Kokernag sub-division participated in the programme.
During the interaction, participants were briefed about the objectives and key provisions of Mission Yuva and were encouraged to adopt entrepreneurship as a sustainable means of livelihood. Stress was also laid on mandatory post-loan skill development and capacity-building training to ensure effective utilisation of financial assistance and long-term viability of the enterprises.
As per the Branch Manager, J&K Bank, Larnoo, a total of 24 loan cases were disbursed on the spot under Mission Yuva, involving a cumulative amount exceeding ₹1 crore. The loans covered a wide range of entrepreneurial activities including dairy farming, sheep rearing, general stores, sports shops, embroidery units, copper work, tent house services and e-vehicle-based ventures.
The SDM Kokernag appreciated the efforts of the Branch Manager for achieving one of the highest performances in Mission Yuva loan disbursement in the Valley and advised the bank to further expedite processing and release of remaining eligible cases to ensure timely coverage of all beneficiaries under the scheme.
