Jammu: Winter Vacations for Summer Zone Schools Extended Till January 17

Winter Break in Summer Zone of Jammu Division Extended up to Jan 14: DSEJ

Jammu, Jan 14 (JKNS): The Directorate of School Education, Jammu has extended winter vacations for all government and private schools in the Summer Zone until January 17, 2026, in view of the prevailing harsh weather conditions.

The vacation extension will cover both students and teaching staff, ensuring safety and minimizing disruption due to adverse weather, as per order issued by news agency JKNS.

Board Exams to Continue

The Directorate clarified that Class 10th to 12th Board Examinations will be conducted as per the previously notified schedule, without any changes.

Online Classes to Continue

Schools have been directed to explore online teaching options for students from Class 6th onwards, to ensure academic continuity during the extended break.

Republic Day Preparations Uninterrupted

Preparations for Republic Day 2026 celebrations in schools will continue as scheduled, according to directives issued by the competent authorities.

The order was issued by Dr. Naseem Javaid Chowdhary, JKAS, Director of School Education, Jammu, in continuation of earlier instructions issued on January 11, 2026. (JKNS)
