Srinagar, Jan 18 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board on Sunday organised a grand felicitation ceremony in Srinagar to honour toppers from Waqf Board run schools of the Kashmir division who excelled in the recently declared Class 10th and 12th examinations conducted by the JKBOSE.

As per news agency JKNS, The ceremony was presided over by Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, who felicitated 30 meritorious students for their outstanding academic performance. She was accompanied by Board Member Syed Mohammad Hussain and Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin. Principals and administrators of various educational institutions were also present on the occasion.

During the event, a detailed development report highlighting reforms and progress in the Waqf Board’s education sector was presented. Dr Andrabi presented mementos and Certificates of Honour to the toppers, acknowledging their hard work and dedication.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said the remarkable performance of Waqf schools in board examinations was the outcome of comprehensive reforms initiated over the past three years. She said focused efforts were made to improve infrastructure, strengthen accountability mechanisms and create a positive academic environment in Waqf-run institutions.

She further stated that the Waqf Board was the first organisation in the Union Territory to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) across its educational institutions. “These reforms have led to a significant increase in admissions and transformed our schools from financial instability to centres of excellence,” she said.

Dr Andrabi reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to further upgrading Waqf educational institutions in the coming years, adding that reforms and major policy decisions in the education sector would continue to ensure quality education for students. —(JKNS)
