Crackdown on Traffic Violations Launched on Gulmarg Axis; 119 Challans Issued in Budgam

Budgam, Jan 21 (JKNS): In a bid to strengthen road safety and enforce strict adherence to traffic regulations, the Traffic Police Rural Kashmir, in coordination with Budgam Police, carried out a major traffic enforcement drive on the busy Narbal-Gulmarg road at Magam.

As per news agency JKNS, A traffic enforcement drive was conducted at Narbal on the Gulmarg Road, Magam, with the objective of ensuring strict compliance with traffic rules and promoting road safety among motorists.

The drive was supervised by SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, Mr. Ravinder Pal Singh, and attended by DySP Traffic Budgam, Mr. Farooq Ahmad, officials of the (DTI ) Budgam Showkat Ameen the DO (PP) Narabl and personnel of the Traffic Police Budgam.

During the drive, a total of 119 challans were issued against traffic violators for various offences, including violations of traffic norms and unsafe driving practices.

Addressing the public, SSP Traffic Rural Ravinder Pal Singh stressed the importance of road discipline and appealed to parents to ensure that minors do not drive vehicles. He urged all citizens to strictly adhere to traffic rules. He also appealed to tourists visiting Gulmarg to follow traffic regulations, drive responsibly, and cooperate with traffic authorities to help prevent accidents and ensure smooth traffic movement.

The Traffic Police reiterated that such enforcement drives will continue in the future to enhance road safety and reduce traffic-related accidents across the district. (JKNS)
