Sopore, Jan 24 (JKNS): The full dress rehearsal for the upcoming Republic Day Parade-2026 was held on Saturday at Khushal Sports Stadium, Sopore, with active participation from police, security forces, civil administration, and educational institutions across Police District Sopore.
As per news agency JKNS, During the rehearsal, Tehsildar Sopore, Sheikh Tariq, unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute during the march past. ASP Sopore Shri Mir Murtaza, JKPS, along with officers of Sopore Police and the civil administration, were present on the occasion.
The parade was commanded by DySP Akash Kapoor, JKPS. The march past was presented by contingents of District Police Sopore, J&K Armed Police, CRPF, J&K Home Guards, and students from various educational institutions of Police District Sopore. In total, nine contingents from government and private schools participated in the march past.
In addition, students from four educational institutions presented colourful cultural programmes, adding vibrancy and patriotic fervour to the rehearsal.
The full dress rehearsal was conducted smoothly and successfully, reflecting coordinated efforts and preparedness of all participating departments for the forthcoming Republic Day celebrations. (JKNS)
