Sopore Police Solve Burglary Case Within 24 Hours; Stolen Property Recovered and Accused Arrested

Sopore, Jan 24 (JKNS): Sopore Police have successfully solved a burglary case within 24 hours of its reporting, leading to the arrest of the accused and recovery of stolen property.

Police Station Sopore received a written complaint from Akash Ahmad Wani, S/O Hafeezullah Wani, R/O Nowhamam, Sopore, stating that during the intervening night of 22/23 January 2026, unknown burglars broke open his shop located at Iqbal Market, Sopore, and stole crockery items etc. Accordingly, FIR No. 22/2026 under Sections 305 and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered at Police Station Sopore, and investigation was initiated promptly.

During the course of investigation, several suspects were examined.

One suspect, Danish Ahmad Gojri, S/O Mohammad Rajab Gojri, R/O Badshah Masjid, Batpora, Sopore, confessed to his involvement in the burglary.

Based on his disclosure, Sopore Police effected the recovery of stolen property worth lakhs of rupees within 24 hours of the registration of the case. The accused has been arrested in the case.

Further investigation is underway to ascertain any additional involvement or linkages.

Sopore Police reiterate their commitment to swift investigation, protection of property and commercial establishments and firm action against criminal elements, ensuring public confidence and safety. (JKNS)
