Anantnag, Jan 26 (JKNS): The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic zeal at Shaheed Humayun Muzammil Government Degree College, Anantnag.
The main function witnessed an impressive parade and vibrant cultural programs, reflecting the spirit of unity and national pride.
The Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare, Ms. Sakeena Masood Itoo, unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the march-past, accompanied by SSP Anantnag, Shri Amritpal Singh (IPS).
The parade featured smartly turned-out contingents of the CRPF, IRP, District Police, SPOs, Home Guards, NCC cadets, school students and district Police Band, who showcased discipline and coordination.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Minister extended warm Republic Day greetings to the people of Anantnag. She highlighted the significant progress achieved by the district in key sectors such as education, healthcare, communication, agriculture, youth services, and sports, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive development and public welfare.
The celebrations were further enriched by colorful cultural performances presented by schoolchildren, which were widely appreciated by the audience. Prizes were distributed among the best parade contingents and cultural performers. On the occasion, police and civil administration personnel were also felicitated with certificates of appreciation for their exemplary service and dedication to public duty.
The event was attended by Hon’ble MLAs, DIG South Kashmir Range, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, DDC Chairman, and senior officers from the Police, Army, CRPF, and Civil Administration, along with a large and enthusiastic public turnout. (JKNS)
