Jammu, Jan 27 (JKNS): The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been suspended for traffic after fresh snowfall disrupted road conditions near the Navyug Tunnel, officials said on Monday morning.
An official from traffic Department told news agency JKNS, vehicular movement has been halted in both directions between Jammu and Srinagar. Authorities also confirmed that the Mughal Road, Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road and Sinthan Pass remain closed due to snow accumulation and unsafe conditions.
Travelers have been strongly advised to postpone their journeys until the roads are cleared and officially reopened for traffic.
Officials cautioned commuters against relying on unverified information and urged them to follow only official traffic advisories.
For real-time updates, people have been asked to consult the Traffic Police’s official Twitter handle @Traffic_hqrs, Facebook page of Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police, or contact the respective Traffic Control Units in Jammu, Srinagar and Ramban. (JKNS)
