Bandipora, Jan 27 (JKNS): Member Legislative Assembly Sonawari Hilal Akbar Lone on Tuesday directed the administration to ensure speedy snow clearance and restoration of essential services in the wake of recent snowfall.
He held a detailed meeting with the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department and Other Departments and reviewed the measures being taken to deal with the situation arising due to heavy snowfall.
During the tour, the MLA visited Community Health Centre (CHC) Sumbal and Power Development Department (PDD) Sumbal to assess the availability of medical facilities and the progress of power restoration works. SDM Sumbal, Murtaza Ahmad, accompanied the MLA during the visit.
The overall snow-related situation was reviewed on the ground, and officials were instructed to remain alert and responsive to public needs.
Speaking to the media, MLA Hilal Akbar Lone said that he is in constant touch with all concerned departments.
He informed that snow has been cleared from almost all emergency roads and that electricity supply is being gradually restored in affected areas.
He assured the public that the administration is making all possible efforts to normalize the situation at the earliest. (JKNS)
