Srinagar, Jan 28 (JKNS): The 10 Battalion of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Srinagar on Tuesday organised the flag-off ceremony of the Bharat Darshan Tour 2026 at its Battalion Headquarters in Batamaloo, Srinagar.

The programme, supported by Saving the Future NGO, was held with ceremonial decorum and was attended by senior officers, including DIG Sector Headquarters SSB Shri Imtiyaz Ismail Parray, IPS, Commandant 10 Battalion SSB Shri Deepak Singh, and Commandant 14 Battalion SSB Shri Devendra Kumar, who formally flagged off the tour.

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Shri Imtiyaz Ismail Parray said the Bharat Darshan Tour is a flagship outreach initiative of the Sashastra Seema Bal aimed at promoting national integration, cultural awareness, and unity in diversity.

He said around 30 student participants will visit important historical monuments and prominent cities of the country, including Jaipur, Udaipur, and Delhi, to experience India’s rich cultural heritage.

He further said that during the tour, the students will also get an opportunity to interact with senior dignitaries, including the Governor of Rajasthan and the Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal, which would serve as a source of inspiration for them.

Commandant 10 Battalion SSB Shri Deepak Singh, in his address, welcomed the dignitaries and reiterated the Battalion’s commitment to community outreach and nation-building.

He said the Bharat Darshan Tour reflects SSB’s vision of youth empowerment by providing students exposure to India’s cultural, historical, and educational landmarks.

Commandant 14 Battalion SSB Shri Devendra Kumar appreciated the initiative and stressed that such exposure programmes play an important role in shaping young minds, fostering patriotism, and strengthening national unity.

Chairman of Saving the Future NGO, Adv. Syed Junaid Sadaat, expressed gratitude to the Sashastra Seema Bal for associating the NGO with the initiative. He said the collaboration reflects a shared commitment towards youth development, social harmony, and national integration through educational exposure.

Senior officers of SSB, representatives of the NGO, and other invited guests were present on the occasion. Adequate security and logistical arrangements were made to ensure the smooth conduct of the ceremony.

The organisers expressed confidence that the Bharat Darshan Tour 2026 would prove to be an enriching experience for the participants and would inspire them to contribute positively to society. —(JKNS)
