New Delhi, Jan 31 (JKNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met H.E. Dr. Varsen Aghabekian Shahin, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, and reaffirmed India’s long-standing political and development support to Palestine.

As per news agency JKNS, India has remained a steadfast development partner of the State of Palestine, extending assistance both bilaterally and through United Nations agencies. So far, India has provided USD 170 million as development assistance to Palestine, with projects worth USD 40 million currently under implementation, officials said.

The Prime Minister also interacted with leaders attending the meeting of the League of Arab States, underscoring India’s deep civilisational ties and expanding cooperation with the Arab world.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi, as per news agency JKNS, said, “Delighted to receive the Foreign Ministers and delegations of the Arab League today. The Arab world is a part of India’s extended neighbourhood, linked by deep civilisational bonds, vibrant people-to-people connections and enduring brotherly ties, as well as a shared commitment to peace, progress and stability. Confident that enhanced cooperation in technology, energy, trade and innovation will unlock new opportunities and take the partnership to new heights.” (JKNS)
