Shopian, Feb 5 (JKNS): As a part of its sustained efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from society, Police Station Imamsahib arrested one drug peddler and recovered charas like substance from his possession.
During routine naka checking at Wachohallan crossing, a police party from Police Station Imamsahib noticed a person moving under suspicious circumstances and tactfully apprehended him. Upon his search apparently Charas like substance weighing approximately 450Grams were recovered from his possession. The accused has been identified as Shahbaz Ahmad Bhat resident of Khalan Litter Pulwama.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 09/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Imamsahib and investigation has been initiated to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused person and to unearth the broader network involved in the trade.
