Jammu, Feb 6 (JKNS): Ahead of the Budget presentation in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Leader of Opposition and BJP leader Sunil Sharma on Friday expressed disappointment over the government’s approach, saying there is little expectation from the forthcoming Budget.

Speaking to media persons outside assembly complex in Jammu, as per news agency JKNS, Sunil Sharma said that “there is not much hope from this Budget because over the past one and a half years, the attitude of the government and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has not reflected genuine concern for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.”

“Especially the daily wage workers and poor sections of society have been neglected,” he said.

Commenting on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Sharma said “the Home Minister arrived in Jammu last night and the visit is scheduled for two days.”

“During this visit, he will inspect border sectors and chair a security review meeting. Apart from security-related issues, developmental activities in Kashmir will also be discussed, including centrally sponsored schemes and major projects,” he added.

He further said that the visit should be seen as a routine exercise. “The Home Minister personally reviews maximum matters related to Jammu and Kashmir affairs. This visit is part of that ongoing process,” Sharma said. (JKNS)
