Pattan, February 6 (JKNS):
The seven-day Bharat Darshan educational tour organised by the 2nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) concluded on Thursday with a valedictory function held at the Battalion Headquarters in Pattan.
The tour, conducted from January 30 to February 5, aimed at exposing students to the country’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks and national diversity.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Commandant Asheesh Naithani, Second-in-Command Hari Charan Prasad, officers and officials of the 2nd Battalion SSB, along with local dignitaries, members of the tour contingent and media representatives.
Officials said the programme provided students with a valuable opportunity to broaden their horizons through first-hand experience of India’s historical and cultural wealth. Feedback from participants indicated that the tour was both enlightening and purposeful, helping boost their confidence and awareness.
Students shared that the exposure enhanced their understanding of the nation’s history and heritage sites while also contributing to their practical and creative learning. They added that the journey helped instill discipline, teamwork, mutual cooperation and a sense of collective responsibility.
SSB officials highlighted that such initiatives play an important role in guiding youth towards constructive activities and steering them away from negative influences, including anti-national elements and drug abuse. The programme also aligns with the SSB’s broader vision of strengthening trust, coordination and a sense of security between security forces and the local population in the Valley.
Addressing the gathering, Commandant Asheesh Naithani congratulated the students on successfully completing the tour and encouraged them to use their experiences for personal growth and nation-building. He wished them success in their future endeavours and urged them to contribute positively to society and communal harmony.(JKNS)
