Kupwara, Feb 9 (JKNS): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashmir Media InCharge, Advocate Sajid Yousuf Shah, accused the National Conference (NC) of misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir by presenting what he described as a “visionless” budget in the Assembly.

Addressing a press conference in Kupwara, Shah said the budget lacks a concrete roadmap for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir. He alleged that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has attempted to deceive the public by merely repackaging and projecting Central Government schemes as new initiatives under the state budget.

This is not a people-friendly budget. It goes completely against the aspirations and expectations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Shah said, adding that the budget fails to address pressing public concerns and long-pending developmental needs.

He further stated that the National Conference has failed to fulfill the promises made to the people before coming to power and has fallen short of delivering on its commitments.

Reiterating the BJP’s stand, Sajid Yousuf Shah asserted that the party remains firmly committed to the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir at an appropriate time, in the larger interest of the people.

The BJP leader concluded by urging the ruling party to stop misleading the public and instead work with sincerity, accountability, and transparency to ensure real development and good governance in the region. (JKNS)
