Qom: Iran-based Kashmiri religious scholar and prominent Seminary Maulana Waseem Reza has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the tragic bomb attack on Jamia Masjid and Imambargah Khadija-tul-Kubra (peace be upon her) in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Describing the incident as a disturbing violation of fundamental human values and freedom of religion and belief, Maulana Kashmiri, a scholar at Jamiat-ul-Mustafa Al-Alamiya, Hawza Ilmiyya Qom in a statement stated that the loss of innocent lives in a place of worship is a matter of serious concern for the Muslim World and international community.

He emphasized that ensuring the safety of places of worship is essential to upholding the universally recognized right to practice one’s faith freely and without fear.

Referring to the broader context, Moulana noted that religious minorities, including Shia Muslims, have faced recurring security challenges in certain regions.

Young Cleric stressed the importance of strengthening preventive security measures, institutional accountability, and inclusive governance so that all communities may live and worship in safety and dignity.
The Seminarian further observed that violent extremism often emerges where intolerance and misinformation go unchallenged.

He pointed out that in some contexts, certain seminaries and centres are misused to misguide youth, distancing them from the authentic teachings of religion and promoting distorted interpretations that contradict the true spirit of faith.

Maulana Reza Kashmiri called for coordinated national and international efforts focused on education, dialogue, and responsible religious scholarship.

He reiterated that Islam, as taught by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), places the highest value on human life and categorically rejects violence against innocents and extremist ideology. The essence of Islam, he said, is fully consistent with universal principles of peace, moderation, coexistence, and respect for human dignity.

In conclusion, Maulana Kashmiri conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack and offered prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured, expressing hope that this tragedy would reinforce collective efforts to safeguard religious freedom and prevent such acts in the future.
