Srinagar, Feb 10 (JKNS): Police on Monday claimed to have recovered a heroin-like substance weighing about 13 grams from a person during a naka checking at Tarpora Chee Bridge in Anantnag.
An official told news agency JKNS that a police party from Police Post General Bus Stand had established a naka at the spot when a Swift car bearing registration number JK02BJ-2322 was intercepted for routine checking.
During the search of the vehicle, police recovered approximately 13 grams of a heroin-like substance from the possession of the driver. A cash amount of ₹20,000 was also seized from him, the official said.
The accused has been identified as Zakir Ahmad Khan, son of Bashir Ahmad Khan, a resident of Randigam, Pulwama.
In this regard, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at the concerned police station, and further investigation has been taken up. (JKNS)
