Jammu, Feb 11 (JKNS): The ninth day of the ongoing Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly witnessed high drama on Wednesday as BJP MLAs staged a walkout, protesting against an alleged remark made by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the House a day earlier.
According to news agency JKNS, BJP members objected to a purported statement attributed to the Chief Minister, describing it as objectionable and not in keeping with the dignity and decorum of the Assembly. The legislators raised slogans and demanded that the remark be withdrawn.
Amid the uproar, all BJP MLAs walked out of the House as a mark of protest and pressed for an apology from the Chief Minister. The proceedings, however, continued despite the noisy scenes and opposition protest.
Later coming back insude the house, BJP legislators dwmanded and said, “Let the CM come and say, ‘I regret the words I said; it was a slip of tongue, and I apologise.’”— (JKNS)
