Jammu, Feb 11 (JKNS): Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday said he regrets his remarks if they hurt anyone, as BJP legislators continued to protest in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly over his alleged comment.
Addressing the House, the Chief Minister, as per news agency JKNS stated, “If my remarks have caused any hurt, I regret it. My comments were aimed at them and not at their family members. However, their field commander (referring to LoP Sunil Sharma) even dragged my late grandfather into the issue while leaving.”
Earlier, BJP MLAs described the alleged comment as objectionable and against the decorum of the House. They raised slogans, demanded that the Chief Minister withdraw the remark and apologise, and staged a brief walkout in protest.
The BJP members later re-entered the House and renewed their demand, saying the Chief Minister should term it a slip of tongue and tender a clear apology. Despite the uproar and continued protests, the Assembly proceedings went on. — (JKNS)
