Bandipora, Feb 11 (JKNS): Social Welfare Department, Bandipora today organised a Mega Awareness and Medical Camp for senior citizens under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana at the Town Hall, Hajin, Bandipora.
The Programme witnessed active participation from senior citizens of the area. Officials from the Health Department, along with an Advocate from the Judiciary, were present to provide medical guidance and legal awareness to the beneficiaries.
The event was presided over by Tehsil Social Welfare Officer, Sumbal, Fayaz Ahmad, who was accompanied by other officials of the Social Welfare Department. Speaking on the occasion, the Tehsil Social Welfare Officer highlighted the importance of government welfare schemes aimed at ensuring the health, dignity, and social security of senior citizens.
During the programme, free medical check-ups, health screening, and medicines were provided to the elderly participants. The initiative was widely appreciated by the beneficiaries, who lauded the department for bringing essential services to their doorstep.
The camp concluded with an assurance from the officials to continue organising such awareness programmes in the future for the welfare of senior citizens. (JKNS)
