Keran, Feb 11 (JKNS) : Kundian & Keran, the International Day for Women and Girls in Science was celebrated with pride and purpose today at Keran Bowl, jointly covering the villages of Kundian and Keran, through a special programme organised by the Indian Army, Rashtriya Rifles, Keran.

The event aimed to empower women and inspire young girls by creating awareness about the limitless opportunities available in science, administration, defence, and other professional fields.

The programme highlighted the remarkable journeys of women from Kashmir Valley and the district who have risen to prestigious positions such as IAS, IPS, JKAS, and have excelled in diverse sectors including education, healthcare, research, and security services.

Addressing the gathering, speakers emphasised that education and scientific thinking are powerful tools for social transformation. Young girls were encouraged to dream boldly, work hard, and believe in their own potential, regardless of challenges or geographical barriers.

The Indian Army reiterated its commitment to women empowerment, youth engagement, and nation-building, especially in remote border areas.

The programme concluded with an emotional message of hope that the daughters of Keran and Kundian are not just the future of the valley, but the strength of the nation.(JKNS)
