Sopore, Feb 14 (JKNS): Continuing its sustained action against the drug menace, Sopore Police apprehended a drug peddler during evening hours at Botingoo Herpora under the jurisdiction of Police Post Warpora and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Nisar Ahmad Malla, S/O Mohammad Shaban Malla, R/O Muqam Shaheed Mir.
During his personal search, charas-like substance along with Codeine Phosphate bottles were recovered and seized as per due procedure.
Accordingly, FIR No. 32/2026 under Sections 8/20-22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway to trace the source and wider linkages involved.
Sopore Police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and reaffirm their commitment to sustained and firm action against those involved in narcotics trade. (JKNS)
