Kupwara Feb 14 (JKNS): In a commendable display of humanity and prompt action, the Indian Army (45 Rashtriya Rifles, Machil) carried out a successful CASEVAC and provided immediate medical assistance to a 15-year-old boy, Taufeeq (S/o Mr. Nazir Ahmed) from Ringbala village, during the intervening night of 13 February 2026.
Between 0015 hrs and 0300 hrs, the minor, suffering from severe lower abdominal pain due to infection and critically low haemoglobin (Hb: 06), was brought on a stretcher to Chakki by Sar Bhaik TPS, accompanied by his father and relatives. Recognising the urgency, the Army ensured seamless coordination for his evacuation.
Subsequently, a Dudi PHC ambulance shifted the patient to Kupwara Civil Hospital, from where he was referred to Handwara Medical College for advanced treatment.
According to medical officials, the patient is now stable.
The timely intervention once again highlights the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of civilians in remote and border areas, proving that beyond safeguarding borders, the force continues to stand as a lifeline for the local population in times of medical emergencies. (JKNS)
