Keran: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Young Indians Kolkata Chapter delegation visited Keran Valley and held detailed interactions with local entrepreneurs, youth, and civil citizens. The team toured the Keran Lights LED Bulb Unit, appreciating the spirit of self-reliance and innovation emerging from this remote border region.
The visit, facilitated by the Indian Army, focused on promoting border area and battlefield tourism, while exploring opportunities for infrastructure development and employment generation in the region.

The delegation also visited the Keran Youth Centre, local homestays, the iconic Flag Point in Keran, the Post Office, and several community-driven initiatives. Members praised the determination of the people of Keran in building sustainable livelihoods despite geographical challenges along the Line of Control.
During the interaction sessions, extensive discussions were held on several new and upcoming projects aimed at strengthening border tourism, eco-tourism, skill development, and small-scale industries. The CII team expressed confidence in Keran’s potential and assured full support in promoting tourism and structured economic growth in the region.
They emphasized their commitment to exploring partnerships that would generate maximum employment opportunities for local youth and connect emerging startups to national platforms.
The visit marks a significant step toward transforming Kupwara into a gateway of border tourism and advancing the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat through grassroots entrepreneurship.
