Srinagar, Feb 23 (JKNS): A residential house and a crockery shot was gutted in a fire that broke out in the HMT area of Srinagar on Sunday late night, officials said.
An official from Fire and Emergency Command Srinagar told news agency JKNS that, a fire call was received at the State Fire Control Room Batamaloo, following which fire tenders from Fire Station Mujgund, Fire Station JVC and Fire Station Safa Kadal were rushed to the spot.
Upon arrival, it was found that a crockery shop along with a single-storey residential house was involved in the blaze. Firefighting operations were immediately launched to prevent further spread of the fire.
In the incident, one single-storey residential house along with a crockery shop was gutted. However, no loss of life or injuries were reported.
The operation was conducted under the overall supervision of ADGP Fire & Emergency Services Alok Kumar (IPS), with on-ground guidance of Deputy Director F&E Command Srinagar Dr Mir Aqib Hussain and Mobilizing Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained and is part of the investigation, officials added. (JKNS
