Srinagar, Feb 24 (JKNS): Acting on the directions of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the Government has set up a committee to examine and determine the transport fee structure for private schools across the Union Territory.
An order issued by the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) as per news agency JKNS, states that the panel has been constituted in compliance with directions passed in writ petition (C No. 10702). As per the order, the committee comprises the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department; Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Transport Department; Ashish Gupta, Special Secretary, Law, J&K UT; and Firdous Parray, Deputy Legal Remembrancer, FFRC.
The committee has been empowered to seek assistance from subject experts and concerned officials for proper assessment of transport fares. It will frame its own procedure for meetings and related proceedings and is mandated to submit its report within one month from the issuance of the order. (JKNS)
