Sopore, Feb 26 (JKNS): Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Sopore Police apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking under the jurisdiction of Police Station Sopore and recovered psychotropic substances from his possession.
During naka checking at Chachu Mode, Iqbal Nagar Sopore, a suspicious individual was intercepted and apprehended. Upon personal search, Spasmoproxyvon Plus capsules and Alprazolam tablets were recovered and seized as per due procedure.
The accused has been identified as Umar Tariq Dar, S/O Tariq Ahmad Dar, R/O Mumkak, Batpora Sopore.
Accordingly, FIR No. 38/2026 under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Sopore, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and wider linkages involved.
