Srinagar, Feb 27 (JKNS): A six-year-old girl died after being struck by a load carrier in the Rambagh area of Srinagar on Friday, officials said.
Official sources told news agency JKNS, that the deceased has been identified as Ayat Imtiyaz, daughter of Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Dayalgam, Anantnag.
She was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital and was later referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, for specialised treatment.
The child was crossing the road near Beighpora Masjid in Rambagh Srinagar, when the vehicle hit her, causing multiple injuries. However, doctors at SMHS Hospital declared her brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation started.. (JKNS)
