Srinagar, March 01 (JKNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday appealed to all communities to maintain peace and exercise restraint in light of the ongoing developments in Iran, including reports about the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a post shared on X, as per news agency JKNS, the Office of the Chief Minister stated that Omar Abdullah has expressed serious concern over the situation and urged people to refrain from any action that could trigger tension or unrest.
He also informed that the Government of Jammu and Kashmir is in close coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, to ensure the safety and well-being of J&K residents, particularly students, presently in Iran.
The Chief Minister said the administration is closely monitoring the situation and remains committed to protecting the interests of the Union Territory’s citizens. (JKNS)
