Srinagar, March 1 (JKNS): Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi on Sunday visited key locations in the Valley to assess the security situation amid ongoing pro-Iran and anti-Israel and United States protests.
As per news agency JKNS, the top police officers, accompanied by the SSP Srinagar, senior officials and representatives of various security agencies, remained on the ground to oversee arrangements aimed at maintaining peace and public safety.
Reports indicate that peaceful demonstrations were held in several parts of Kashmir, with participants expressing solidarity with Iran and opposition to actions by the US and Israel. Authorities have stressed that while peaceful expression will be respected, strict vigil is being maintained to prevent any disruption of law and order.
Security forces have been deployed at sensitive spots as a precautionary measure to ensure calm and facilitate smooth public movement.
Police reiterated their commitment to preserving communal harmony and warned that any attempt to incite tension or unrest would be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law. (JKNS)
