Shopian, Mar 12 (JKNS): The Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women, Mission Shakti Shopian, under the Department of Social Welfare, in collaboration with the Department of Health, organized a Free Health Check-up Camp and Hygiene Kit Distribution Drive at Government Higher Secondary School Kellar, Shopian under the flagship initiative Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

The programme aimed to promote health awareness, hygiene practices, and overall well-being among adolescent girls and women. During the camp, medical professionals from the Health Department conducted comprehensive health check-ups, provided medical consultations, and guided students on menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and preventive healthcare.

On the occasion, hygiene kits were distributed among the girl students to encourage safe and healthy hygiene practices. The initiative was warmly received by the students and school staff, who appreciated the efforts of the Sankalp Hub and the Health Department in addressing the health needs of young girls.

Officials from Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women Shopian highlighted that such awareness and outreach activities are an integral part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, focusing on the health, education, dignity, and empowerment of the girl child.

The organizers emphasized that the Sankalp Hub will continue to conduct similar awareness and support programmes across the district to ensure that women and girls have better access to health services, information, and essential facilities.

The programme witnessed active participation from students, teachers, health officials, and representatives from the Social Welfare Department, making the event both informative and impactful. (JKNS)
