Karnah: A media awareness programme on journalism and responsible use of media was organised at PM SHRI Boys High School Khawarpara karnah where students, teachers and school staff participated enthusiastically. The Headmaster of the school attended the programme as the chief guest.
On the occasion, noted journalist Ishfaq Sayeed delivered an informative lecture highlighting the importance of media, its role in society, and the responsible use of social media in the present digital era. He said that in today’s fast-paced digital world, information spreads very quickly, therefore young people must verify the authenticity of any news or information before sharing it.
He further said that fake news and rumours often create confusion and unrest in society, and responsible citizens should develop the habit of verifying facts before believing or forwarding any information. He added that journalism is a dignified and responsible profession whose primary objective is to bring truth to light and provide accurate information to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the Headmaster of the school, Mohammad Farooq Lone, appreciated the initiative and said that such programmes play an important role in creating awareness among students and introducing them to different fields of life.
