Srinagar, Mar 12 (JKNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday ordered a comprehensive investigation into the firing incident targeting National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah in Jammu.
Sources told news agency JKNS that the Lieutenant Governor also spoke to Dr. Farooq Abdullah over the phone and enquired about the incident while assuring that the matter would be investigated thoroughly.
The LG further directed Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat to leave no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of the incident and ensure swift action in the case, sources said.
Meanwhile, sources further added, senior officials have been instructed to ensure airtight security arrangements for all protectees, with strict directions issued to maintain heightened vigilance to prevent such incidents in the future. (JKNS)
